QualGear LLC ("QualGear," "we," "us," "our") designs and sells AV mounting, projector screen, connectivity, cable-management, ergonomic, and professional AV products, and operates the QualGear online store. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you shop with us or contact us, how we use it, when it is shared, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices you have. It applies to the QualGear online store and to the ways you interact with our team by email or phone.
The short version
- We collect what we need to take your order, ship it, and support you — and not more.
- Our store runs on Shopify. Shopify sets the essential cookies that keep your session, cart, and checkout working.
- Beyond the essential cookies, we use consent-aware Google Analytics and the advertising pixels of the platforms where we list our products — Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (including YouTube), and Pinterest — to measure our own listings and ads.
- We never sell your personal information for money. Some state laws call pixel data sent to advertising platforms "sharing" — you can opt out; see "Your privacy rights."
- Email support@qualgear.com to access, correct, or delete your information. We honor these requests for every customer, wherever you live.
Information we collect
When you place an order. Your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, the products you ordered, and your order history. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processors through the Shopify checkout; QualGear does not receive or store full card numbers.
When you contact us. Your contact details, order number, the product model or SKU, your message, and any photographs or documents you send (for example, for a return, warranty claim, or compatibility question). We may retain shipment photographs and order documentation for quality-control and shipping inquiries.
When you browse the store. The Shopify platform processes the basic technical information needed to run the store securely — such as IP address, browser and device information, and the pages you view — for site operation, security, and fraud prevention.
When you apply for a dealer or commercial account. Business information you submit with your application, such as company registration documents, a sales-tax permit, Form W-9, resale certificate, and trade references.
When you ship on your own carrier account. The carrier account details you provide, used only to process the requested shipment.
We do not ask for, and you should not send, sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers or health information, except where a document is legally required for a commercial account.
How we use information
We use personal information for these purposes:
- Orders — processing, fulfilling, and shipping your order, and sending order confirmations, shipping notices, and delivery updates.
- Payment and fraud prevention — collecting payment through our payment processors, verifying transactions, and protecting customers and QualGear against fraud and misuse.
- Support — answering questions, providing technical and installation guidance, and handling returns (RMAs), warranty claims, and replacement-part requests.
- Accounts — administering customer, dealer, wholesale, and commercial accounts.
- Legal and records — maintaining business records and meeting tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.
- Site operation and security — operating, securing, and improving the store.
- Sales-channel measurement — measuring and attributing the visits and orders our own listings and ads generate on the platforms where we sell (see "Cookies, analytics, and advertising pixels").
- Marketing email, with your consent — sending promotional email you can opt out of at any time. Consent to marketing is never a condition of purchase.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising pixels
Our store runs on Shopify. Shopify sets a small number of essential cookies that are required for the store to work: they keep your session active, remember what is in your cart, enable secure checkout, and support security and fraud prevention. The store cannot function without them.
Shopify may also use platform cookies to give us basic, aggregated statistics about how the store is used (for example, visit and sales reporting inside our own store dashboard). These are part of the Shopify platform.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the store is used — the pages you view, how you arrived, and shopping activity such as adding items to the cart — so we can improve the store. This pixel runs under Shopify's customer-privacy system with analytics permission required: where your region requires consent, it collects nothing until you allow analytics in the cookie banner.
Advertising and conversion pixels for our sales channels. We list and advertise our own products on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (including Google Shopping and YouTube), and Pinterest. Each platform's pixel is installed through its Shopify sales-channel app and reports events from your visit — pages and products viewed, items added to the cart, checkout started, and orders placed — to that platform, from your browser and, for some events, server-side from Shopify. We use these reports to measure whether our own listings and ads on those platforms lead to visits and orders, and to attribute orders to the right channel. Each platform processes this data under its own privacy policy and may connect it to your account on that platform.
Your controls. Where regional privacy rules require consent, the store shows a cookie banner (Shopify's customer-privacy system) and applies your choice under that system. You can also limit ad personalization in each platform's own settings — Meta's ad preferences, Google's My Ad Center, and Pinterest's personalization settings — and control or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the cart and checkout from working.
The store's chat (Shopify Inbox) and the hCaptcha check on the chat contact form set functional cookies needed to run the chat and protect the store from abuse; they are not used for advertising.
How we share information
We never sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as needed to run the store, complete your transactions, and measure our own sales channels:
- Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts the store and processes store data on our behalf.
- Payment processors — to collect and verify payment.
- Shipping carriers — such as UPS, FedEx, USPS, and freight carriers, to deliver your order.
- Fulfillment partners — where an item on our store is fulfilled by a partner (identified in the disclosure on that item's product page), the partner receives the name, address, and contact details needed to ship the item and handle its returns.
- Advertising and sales-channel platforms — Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (including YouTube), and Pinterest receive the pixel events described in "Cookies, analytics, and advertising pixels" above, because we list and advertise our own products on those platforms.
- Professional advisers and authorities — accountants, lawyers, and government authorities where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to prevent fraud, or to protect rights and safety.
Each service provider receives only what it needs for its role, and we do not permit our service providers to use your personal information for their own advertising. The advertising platforms above stand apart: they process pixel data under their own privacy policies. Under some U.S. state privacy laws (such as California's CPRA), sending pixel data to advertising platforms can count as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out of this sharing — see "Your privacy rights."
Marketing email
If you have opted in to promotional email, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing message or by contacting support@qualgear.com. After you unsubscribe, we will still send the nonpromotional messages needed to serve you — order confirmations, shipping notices, RMA and warranty communications, and responses to your requests.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Order and transaction records are retained for as long as tax, accounting, and other legal obligations require. Support correspondence is retained while it remains relevant to your product or request. When you ask us to delete your information, we delete what we are not legally required to keep.
Your privacy rights
We extend the same core privacy rights to every customer, wherever you live. These rights reflect the strongest common standards of United States state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act), Canada's PIPEDA, and the EU and UK GDPR:
- Access / to know — ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your information, subject to what the law requires us to keep.
- Portability — receive the information you provided in a usable, portable format.
- Objection and restriction — object to or ask us to restrict a use of your information.
- Marketing opt-out — stop promotional email at any time.
- Opt out of ad "sharing" — opt out of pixel data going to advertising platforms.
- No discrimination — exercising a privacy right never affects your pricing or service.
We do not sell personal information for money. Where your state's law gives you the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, you can opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page (linked in the store footer), through the cookie consent banner shown in applicable regions, through the platform settings listed under "Cookies, analytics, and advertising pixels," or by emailing support@qualgear.com with "privacy opt-out" in the subject line.
How to exercise a right. Email support@qualgear.com or call +1 972-423-5015 (Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Central Time). Tell us which right you are exercising and include the email address or order number associated with your information so we can verify the request. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. We respond within the time required by the law that applies to you — generally within 30 to 45 days. If we decline a request, we explain why, and you may appeal by replying to our response; you may also contact the data-protection or consumer-protection authority where you live.
Children
Our store sells home, office, and professional AV equipment and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, and our store runs on Shopify's PCI DSS-compliant platform. No online service can be completely secure, so we also limit what we collect and how long we keep it.
Where information is processed
QualGear is a United States company, and we process information in the United States. Our platform and service providers (such as Shopify and shipping carriers) may process data in other countries where they operate; when they do, they are bound by their own privacy and security commitments and applicable data-transfer safeguards. If you shop with us from Canada, the EU, the UK, or elsewhere, this policy and the rights above apply to you.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information already collected, we will provide reasonable notice, such as an email or a store notice.
