QualGear Pro-AV

Projector ceiling mounts, built as one system. Ceiling adapter, 1.5 in NPT pipe and projector bracket, matched to your ceiling.

QualGear Pro-AV is a modular projector ceiling mount system built on one 1.5 in NPT thread. A ceiling adapter anchors to the structure, a fixed-length pipe sets the hang, and the QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket holds projectors up to 50 lb / 22.7 kg. Adapters cover flat, sloped, drop and truss or I-beam ceilings. Choose your ceiling and pipe length below, and the builder assembles a compatible system you can add to cart in one step.

How the system works

One thread, every ceiling. Four parts in a fixed order, each one chosen for the one above it.

Every Pro-AV drop is the same chain: a ceiling adapter, at least one 1.5 in NPT extension pipe, and the QG-PRO-PM-50 projector bracket. The adapter and the bracket both have female sockets, so a pipe always sits between them. Stack up to six pipes, with a pipe connector between each pair. The lowest-rated part in the chain sets the rating of the whole system.

  • Choose your ceiling

Flat, sloped, drop, truss or I-beam. Each ceiling has one adapter made for it, and the adapter's manual lists the structures it anchors to.

  • Set the pipe length

Six fixed lengths from 1.5 in / 3.8 cm to 36 in / 91.4 cm, and up to six pipes in one system with a connector between each pair. On the flat, sloped or truss adapter the builder shows the calculated drop from the ceiling to the projector's mounting face: the measured adapter-and-bracket height plus the pipe lengths, plus 1 in / 2.5 cm for each connector. On a drop ceiling it shows pipe length only, because the suspension height varies. The projector's own lens offset is in its manual.

  • Check your projector

Weight and mounting-hole spacing decide the fit. The bracket is rated to 50 lb / 22.7 kg, and its four independent arms reach an opposite-arm span of 5.1-18.5 in / 130-470 mm. Confirm both against your projector manual.

  • Build and add to cart

The builder checks each joint, applies the lowest rating in the chain, offers a kit when your choices match one, and adds the whole system to the cart as separate lines.

Where it is used

Fifteen rooms, one mounting system. Pick your application to see which ceiling, adapter and pipe length tend to apply.

Pro-AV products are designed for professional applications. Suitability depends on the exact equipment, structure, environment, code and installation plan, so a qualified installer should evaluate the site. The notes below describe how the system is commonly configured; the builder checks your own ceiling and projector. Ceiling types and challenges listed here are general observations about these spaces, not measurements of your room. Load ratings, adapters and pipe lengths are QualGear published values.

Residential

Home theater

Scenario
A dedicated room with a fixed screen, controlled light and a long-throw or standard-throw projector hung behind the seating.
Typical ceilings
Often flat drywall over wood joists; sometimes a sloped or vaulted ceiling in a converted attic or bonus room.
Challenges
Finding a single joist at the projector position, keeping the hang short enough to clear sightlines, and hiding the HDMI and power run.
System
Flat adapter QG-PRO-PM-CA on a single joist, a short pipe and the QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket, or the QG-KIT-CA kit. Sloped rooms use the QG-PRO-PM-VCA adapter or the QG-KIT-VA kit. Lighter projectors on a flat ceiling can also use a standalone mount such as the PRB-717 (30 lb / 13.6 kg).
Drop
Lens height comes from the projector's vertical offset and the screen's upper edge, both in the projector manual. With one pipe on the flat adapter the builder shows the drop from the ceiling to the projector's mounting face: the adapter and bracket add 7.33 in / 18.6 cm to the pipe length, so a 12 in / 30.5 cm pipe gives 19.33 in / 49.1 cm.
Projector position
Set the distance from the screen with the projector's throw ratio and the image width. Fine aim comes from the bracket's tilt, swivel and rotation after installation.
Cables
Hook-and-loop ties and nail-in cable clips keep the run tidy along the ceiling to the pipe. Cables run inside any pipe length: the inside diameter is 1.5 in / 3.8 cm and an HDMI plug passes through. The side outlet on the 6 in / 15.2 cm, 12 in / 30.5 cm, 24 in / 61 cm and 36 in / 91.4 cm pipes and the opening on the PCO connector are optional exit points for where a cable needs to leave the pipe, not a requirement.
Why modular
Change the projector later and the adapter and pipe stay in the ceiling; only the bracket fit needs re-checking. Black or white finishes match a dark room or a white ceiling.

Residential

Media room

Scenario
A living space or family room that doubles as a screening room, with ambient light and furniture that moves.
Typical ceilings
Flat drywall is most common; some open-plan rooms have vaulted or cathedral ceilings.
Challenges
The projector hangs in a room people walk through, so the hang must be short and the finish must blend in.
System
QG-KIT-CA kit for a flat ceiling or QG-KIT-VA for a vaulted one, each with a 3 in / 7.6 cm pipe. Swap in a longer pipe only if the lens needs to sit lower.
Drop
Keep the pipe as short as the lens offset allows. With one pipe the builder shows the calculated drop from the ceiling to the projector's mounting face; the flat adapter and bracket add 7.33 in / 18.6 cm to the pipe length.
Projector position
Use the throw ratio for distance and the bracket's adjustments for the final aim. The bracket's quick-release lets you take the projector down without disturbing the aim.
Cables
Run cables along the ceiling with hook-and-loop ties or adhesive cable holders, then inside the pipe. Choose a white system and white ties on a white ceiling.
Products
QG-KIT-CA-3IN-W / QG-KIT-VA-3IN-W QG-PRO-PM-6IN-W / QG-PRO-PM-1FT-W (if a lower lens is needed) VT hook-and-loop ties, CCH adhesive holders
Why modular
The same adapter and bracket work with any of six pipe lengths, so the hang can be changed later without a new mount.

Nonprofit

Classroom

Scenario
A K-12 or training classroom with a projector over the student area, aimed at a whiteboard or pull-down screen.
Typical ceilings
Drop ceilings on a 2 x 2 ft or 2 x 4 ft grid are common; older buildings may have flat concrete or plaster over structure.
Challenges
The adapter must hang from the structure above the grid, not from the grid itself, and the projector must stay out of reach.
System
Drop ceiling adapter QG-PRO-PM-SCA-W above the tile, or QG-PRO-PM-SCA2-W flush in place of a 2 x 2 ft tile, with a pipe and the QG-PRO-PM-50-W bracket. Kits QG-KIT-S-3IN-W and QG-KIT-S2-3IN-W pack all three.
Drop
Drop ceiling systems are rated 50 lb / 22.7 kg, set by the bracket; both drop ceiling adapters are rated 60 lb / 27.2 kg. The suspension wire length varies with the plenum, so the builder shows pipe length only on a drop ceiling.
Projector position
Many classroom projectors are short-throw. Check the throw ratio against the distance to the board before picking the tile position.
Cables
Cables can run above the grid to the wall.
Why modular
A school can standardize on one adapter and bracket and vary only the pipe length room by room.

Nonprofit

University and lecture hall

Scenario
Lecture rooms and seminar spaces with heavier installation-class projectors and longer throws.
Typical ceilings
A mix: drop ceilings in seminar rooms, exposed concrete or structural steel in lecture halls, sometimes exposed truss in newer buildings.
Challenges
Projector weight, long cable runs and a structure that differs from room to room across one campus.
System
Flat adapter QG-PRO-PM-CA on structural concrete or wood, drop ceiling adapters where there is a grid, and the truss adapter QG-PRO-PM-TCA-B on truss or I-beams within 3 in / 76 mm wide by 3.5 in / 89 mm high. Each pairs with pipes and the QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket.
Drop
Longer hangs use a 24 in / 61 cm or 36 in / 91.4 cm pipe, or several pipes joined by connectors, up to six pipes and five connectors. The builder shows the calculated drop; each connector adds 1 in / 2.5 cm. The bracket's 50 lb / 22.7 kg rating sets the system rating on every ceiling type.
Projector position
Confirm the projector's weight against 50 lb / 22.7 kg and its hole spacing against 5.1-18.5 in / 130-470 mm. Heavier projectors need a different solution; contact support.
Cables
Cables run inside any pipe length: the inside diameter is 1.5 in / 3.8 cm and an HDMI plug passes through. The side outlet on the 6 in / 15.2 cm, 12 in / 30.5 cm, 24 in / 61 cm and 36 in / 91.4 cm pipes and the opening on the PCO connector are optional exit points for where a cable needs to leave the pipe, not a requirement. QG-CBL-HD20 HDMI cables from 25 ft to 100 ft carry a CL3 in-wall rating.
Why modular
One bracket and one thread across every room, so spares, manuals and installer training are shared.

Commercial

Office and huddle room

Scenario
A small meeting room or open office area with a projector over a table, often sharing the ceiling with lights and HVAC.
Typical ceilings
Drop ceilings are the norm; some fit-outs have exposed concrete slabs or open ceilings with visible structure.
Challenges
Working around diffusers, sprinkler heads and lighting in the grid, and keeping a clean look in a client-facing room.
System
QG-KIT-S2-3IN-W replaces a 2 x 2 ft tile for a flush look; QG-KIT-S-3IN-W sits above the tile. On an exposed slab, QG-KIT-CA-3IN on structural concrete.
Drop
Drop ceiling systems, flush or above the tile, are rated to 50 lb / 22.7 kg, set by the bracket. On a drop ceiling the builder shows pipe length only; on an exposed slab with the flat adapter it shows the calculated drop.
Projector position
Position the tile over the lens point set by the throw ratio, then use the bracket's tilt and swivel for the final aim.
Cables
Run cables above the grid, or along an exposed slab in hook-and-loop ties or tie-mount saddles, then inside the pipe.
Why modular
A tenant can move the projector to a new tile position by relocating the adapter; the bracket and pipe are reused.

Commercial

Conference room

Scenario
A mid-size room with a fixed screen, a conferencing camera and a projector that runs several hours a day.
Typical ceilings
Drop ceilings in most office buildings; flat drywall or concrete in some.
Challenges
Repeatable positioning across several identical rooms, and a hang that stays put through daily use.
System
Drop ceiling adapter QG-PRO-PM-SCA-W or QG-PRO-PM-SCA2-W with a pipe and QG-PRO-PM-50-W; or the QG-PRO-PM-CA adapter on a flat ceiling. Kits cover both.
Drop
Fixed-length pipes keep the same drop in every room, which is why the system suits multi-room rollouts. With one pipe on the flat adapter the builder shows the drop from the ceiling to the projector's mounting face; on a drop ceiling it shows pipe length only.
Projector position
The bracket's 12 adjustment points, six for tilt and six for swivel, hold the aim once set. Tilt adjusts plus or minus 20 degrees, swivel plus or minus 8 degrees, rotation 180 degrees each way.
Cables
Cables run inside any pipe length: the inside diameter is 1.5 in / 3.8 cm and an HDMI plug passes through. The side outlet on the 6 in / 15.2 cm, 12 in / 30.5 cm, 24 in / 61 cm and 36 in / 91.4 cm pipes and the opening on the PCO connector are optional exit points for where a cable needs to leave the pipe, not a requirement.
Why modular
Order the same adapter, pipe and bracket for every room and vary only the finish or the pipe length.

Commercial

Boardroom

Scenario
An executive room where the finish matters as much as the fit, often with a higher ceiling and a larger screen.
Typical ceilings
Flat drywall or feature ceilings over structure; drop ceilings in some buildings.
Challenges
A clean, minimal column in a matching color, with cables out of sight and a projector weight that is often near the upper end of the range.
System
QG-PRO-PM-CA adapter on a single joist or structural concrete, a pipe in black or white, and the QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket. The decorative cover included with the CA adapter finishes the ceiling plate.
Drop
A higher ceiling may call for a 24 in / 61 cm or 36 in / 91.4 cm pipe, or two pipes with a connector. The builder shows the calculated drop; each connector adds 1 in / 2.5 cm. The system rating stays 50 lb / 22.7 kg, set by the bracket.
Projector position
Confirm the projector's weight and hole spacing against the bracket before ordering. The quick-release slide-off lets AV staff service the projector.
Cables
Cables run inside any pipe length: the inside diameter is 1.5 in / 3.8 cm and an HDMI plug passes through. The side outlet on the 6 in / 15.2 cm, 12 in / 30.5 cm, 24 in / 61 cm and 36 in / 91.4 cm pipes and the opening on the PCO connector are optional exit points for where a cable needs to leave the pipe, not a requirement. Cables stay out of sight inside the column from the ceiling to the bracket.
Why modular
Matching black or white across adapter, pipe, connector and bracket, chosen part by part.

Residential

Indoor golf simulator

Scenario
A simulator bay where the projector hangs above and behind the hitting area, clear of the club path, aimed at an impact screen.
Typical ceilings
Garage and basement ceilings: flat joists, sometimes sloped, sometimes exposed truss in a commercial bay.
Challenges
The projector must sit at the throw point for the screen width while staying out of the swing, and the hang must be rigid.
System
QG-KIT-CA for a flat ceiling, QG-KIT-VA for a sloped one, QG-KIT-TA for a truss within the clamp envelope. Each includes the QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket.
Drop
Placement is set by the projector's throw ratio and the screen size; the golf simulator projector guide walks through it. With one pipe on the flat, sloped or truss adapter the builder shows the drop from the ceiling to the projector's mounting face.
Projector position
Short-throw projectors sit closer to the screen and reduce shadows. The bracket's adjustments square the image after the hang is fixed.
Cables
Long HDMI runs to the PC: QG-CBL-HD20 cables from 3 ft to 100 ft, with hook-and-loop ties along the ceiling.
Why modular
QualGear Pro-AV parts keep their 5-year limited manufacturer's warranty, parts only, in golf builds, and a longer pipe can be fitted when the screen or projector changes.

Nonprofit

Church and house of worship

Scenario
A sanctuary or fellowship hall with a bright projector on a long throw, often installed by volunteers with a contractor.
Typical ceilings
High vaulted or cathedral ceilings over wood beams; exposed truss; drop ceilings in classrooms and halls.
Challenges
Mounting plumb on a steep slope, reaching a lens height well below a tall ceiling, and anchoring to the structure safely.
System
QG-PRO-PM-VCA sloped adapter (0-90 degrees, 300 lb / 136 kg) with a long pipe and the QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket; QG-PRO-PM-TCA-B on truss within 3 in / 76 mm by 3.5 in / 89 mm. Kits QG-KIT-VA and QG-KIT-TA start the build.
Drop
Join a 36 in / 91.4 cm pipe to more pipes with connectors for a longer hang, up to six pipes and five connectors. The builder shows the calculated drop; each connector adds 1 in / 2.5 cm. The connector is rated to 300 lb / 136 kg and the system rating remains 50 lb / 22.7 kg, set by the bracket.
Projector position
Overhead installation at height is one of the cases where QualGear strongly recommends professional installation.
Cables
Cables run inside any pipe length: the inside diameter is 1.5 in / 3.8 cm and an HDMI plug passes through. The side outlet on the 6 in / 15.2 cm, 12 in / 30.5 cm, 24 in / 61 cm and 36 in / 91.4 cm pipes and the opening on the PCO connector are optional exit points for where a cable needs to leave the pipe, not a requirement. CL3-rated QG-CBL-HD20 lengths suit in-wall runs.
Why modular
The sloped adapter hangs the same pipe and bracket plumb at any pitch from 0 to 90 degrees, so one system serves the sanctuary and the hall.

Commercial

Hotel meeting room

Scenario
A meeting or banquet room where the projector stays installed between events and must look finished.
Typical ceilings
Drop ceilings and flat decorative ceilings; some ballrooms have high flat slabs.
Challenges
A discreet column in a matching finish, with the projector out of guests' reach and cables hidden.
System
QG-KIT-S2-3IN-W flush in the tile grid, or QG-PRO-PM-CA with a longer pipe on a flat slab, both with the QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket.
Drop
Flush drop ceiling and flat slab systems are both rated to 50 lb / 22.7 kg, set by the bracket. On a flat slab the builder shows the calculated drop for one pipe. On a drop ceiling it shows pipe length only.
Projector position
Set the lens point from the throw ratio and screen width; adjust tilt, swivel and rotation at the bracket.
Cables
Route cables above the grid, then inside the pipe to the bracket.
Why modular
A hotel group can specify one system across properties and order replacement pipes or brackets separately.

Commercial

Hospitality and event space

Scenario
Bars, restaurants, clubs and event venues with projectors on exposed structure, often reconfigured as the room changes.
Typical ceilings
Exposed truss, open joists, concrete slabs and lighting grids.
Challenges
Clamping to truss without drilling, a rating with margin for a heavier projector, and tamper resistance in a public room.
System
QG-PRO-PM-TCA-B clamps with two U-bolts to round truss up to 3 in / 76 mm in diameter, or square and rectangular truss up to 3 in / 76 mm wide by 3.5 in / 89 mm high. Add a pipe and the QG-PRO-PM-50-B bracket, or start with QG-KIT-TA-3IN-B.
Drop
The truss adapter is rated to 400 lb / 181 kg, so the system rating is the bracket's 50 lb / 22.7 kg. With one pipe the builder shows the drop from the underside of the truss to the projector's mounting face: the truss adapter and bracket add 10.5 in / 26.7 cm to the pipe length.
Projector position
A 17 mm wrench tightens the U-bolts. Set the clamp at the lens point, then aim at the bracket.
Cables
The truss adapter uses M5 x 5 mm set screws, 4 mm hex key; the bracket's M6 x 8 mm security screws take the 4 mm key in its hardware pack. Use hook-and-loop ties along the truss.
Products
QG-PRO-PM-TCA-B QG-KIT-TA-3IN-B QG-PRO-PM-50-B Security Allen wrench M2.5 (M5 x 4 mm set screws: sloped adapter, PC connector, pipes); 4 mm key included with the bracket
Why modular
The clamp comes off and goes back on without drilling, so the system moves with the room layout.

Commercial

Airport and transit

Scenario
Terminals, gate areas and training rooms where a projector hangs from structural steel or a high slab, under a facilities contract.
Typical ceilings
High ceilings over structural steel, concrete, metal deck and suspended grids in back-of-house rooms.
Challenges
Most structural steel in these buildings is larger than the truss adapter's clamp envelope, and metal deck is not a documented substrate.
System
Where the beam is within 3 in / 76 mm wide by 3.5 in / 89 mm high, QG-PRO-PM-TCA-B. On structural concrete, QG-PRO-PM-CA. For larger beams or metal deck, request a configuration review before ordering.
Drop
Long hangs stack pipes with connectors rated to 300 lb / 136 kg, up to six pipes and five connectors. The builder shows the calculated drop; each connector adds 1 in / 2.5 cm.
Projector position
Overhead installation on steel or concrete is a case where QualGear strongly recommends professional installation.
Cables
CL3-rated QG-CBL-HD20 lengths from 25 ft to 100 ft.
Why modular
Facilities teams keep one bracket and one thread standard and order only the adapter each site needs.

Nonprofit

Auditorium

Scenario
A school or civic auditorium with a projector on a long throw to a large screen, often from a catwalk, beam or truss.
Typical ceilings
Exposed truss, structural steel, concrete; sometimes a sloped ceiling over the seating.
Challenges
Reaching the lens point from a high structure, a heavier installation projector, and cable runs of 50 ft or more.
System
QG-PRO-PM-TCA-B on truss within the clamp envelope, QG-PRO-PM-VCA on a sloped ceiling, or QG-PRO-PM-CA on structural concrete, each with pipes, a connector between each pair and the QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket.
Drop
The bracket's 50 lb / 22.7 kg rating sets the system rating. Projectors above that weight need a different solution; contact support.
Projector position
Confirm hole spacing of 5.1-18.5 in / 130-470 mm and M3-M6 screw sizes against the projector manual before ordering.
Cables
QG-CBL-HD20 HDMI cables up to 100 ft with a CL3 in-wall rating on the 25-100 ft lengths.
Why modular
The same bracket can be moved from a truss clamp to a sloped adapter if the projector position changes.

Commercial

Training room

Scenario
A corporate or technical training room with a projector over rows of desks, used daily and reconfigured now and then.
Typical ceilings
Drop ceilings in most buildings; flat drywall or concrete in others.
Challenges
Keeping the projector out of reach, a short hang over a low ceiling, and a column that does not block the view.
System
QG-KIT-S-3IN-W or QG-KIT-S2-3IN-W on a drop ceiling; QG-KIT-CA-3IN on a flat ceiling. Each kit's 3 in / 7.6 cm pipe keeps the hang short.
Drop
Swap the kit pipe for a 6 in / 15.2 cm or 12 in / 30.5 cm pipe if the lens needs to sit lower. On a flat ceiling the builder shows the calculated drop; on a drop ceiling it shows pipe length only. The rating follows the adapter on drop ceilings and the bracket elsewhere.
Projector position
Short-throw projectors are common here; check the throw ratio against the distance to the screen.
Cables
Cables run above the grid or along the ceiling in tie-mount saddles and hook-and-loop ties, then inside the pipe.
Why modular
A kit covers the first room; later rooms reorder the same parts or a different pipe length.

Commercial

Commercial AV integration

Scenario
An integrator specifying projector mounts across many sites, with CAD, submittals and spares in mind.
Typical ceilings
All five: flat, sloped, drop, truss and I-beam within the clamp envelope, depending on the site.
Challenges
One bill of materials that fits different ceilings, a documented rating for each chain, and a thread standard that matches other 1.5 in NPT parts.
System
Pick the adapter per site, standardize on the QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket and the pipe lengths you stock, and add QG-PRO-PM-PC or PCO connectors where hangs exceed 36 in / 91.4 cm. Up to six pipes and five connectors in one system, with one connector between each pair of pipes; each connector adds 1 in / 2.5 cm to the drop.
Drop
System rating is the lowest rating in the chain: 50 lb / 22.7 kg, set by the bracket, on every ceiling type. Assembled height with one 12 in / 30.5 cm pipe, measured from the adapter's ceiling-contact face (the underside of the beam for the truss adapter) to the underside of the bracket plate, which is where the projector mounts: flat 19.33 in / 49.1 cm, sloped at 0 degrees 21.25 in / 54 cm, truss 22.5 in / 57.2 cm.
Projector position
Adapters and brackets are made for standard 1.5 in NPT pipe. If another brand's part is mixed in, its rating becomes part of the chain.
Cables
Cables run inside any pipe length: the inside diameter is 1.5 in / 3.8 cm and an HDMI plug passes through. The side outlet on the 6 in / 15.2 cm, 12 in / 30.5 cm, 24 in / 61 cm and 36 in / 91.4 cm pipes and the opening on the PCO connector are optional exit points for where a cable needs to leave the pipe, not a requirement. CL3-rated QG-CBL-HD20 on 25-100 ft lengths.
Products
QG-PRO-PM-CA, VCA, SCA, SCA2, TCA QG-PRO-PM-1.5IN to 3FT, black or white QG-PRO-PM-50-B / -W Security Allen wrench M2.5 (M5 x 4 mm set screws: sloped adapter, PC connector, pipes); 4 mm key included with the bracket QG-PRO-PM-PC / PCO
Why modular
Qualified commercial inquiries can request volume or project pricing and CAD files. One system, one warranty: 5-year limited manufacturer's warranty, parts only.

Choose your ceiling

Five ceilings, five adapters. Each adapter's manual names the structures it anchors to; nothing else is assumed.

The ceiling adapter is the only part that changes with the building. Every adapter has a female 1.5 in NPT socket locked by two M5 set screws, so the same pipes and bracket follow. Structures such as brick, masonry or metal deck, are not documented for any Pro-AV adapter: consult a qualified installer, and note that hardware for those structures is not included.

  • QG-PRO-PM-CA-B / QG-PRO-PM-CA-W, black or white

    Flat ceiling

Documented for a single wood joist or stud, structural wood and structural concrete. The box includes two wood screws, four metal expansion anchors, two M6 washers, set screws and a decorative cover. A marking template is included. Drill 10 mm / 3/8 in in diameter and 45 mm / 1.8 in deep for the concrete anchors. Assembled height with one 12 in / 30.5 cm pipe: 19.33 in / 49.1 cm from the ceiling to the underside of the bracket plate.

Rating: 120 lb / 54.4 kg adapter; 50 lb / 22.7 kg as a system with the bracket

Limits: Brick, masonry and metal are not listed. Mounting between joists needs added structure that a contractor must design; QualGear does not sell a between-joist adapter.

    Start with this ceiling
  • QG-PRO-PM-VCA-B / QG-PRO-PM-VCA-W, black or white

    Sloped or vaulted ceiling

Documented for wood joist or stud and concrete. Adjusts from 0 to 90 degrees so the pipe hangs plumb on cathedral and vaulted ceilings. The box includes three screws, three metal expansion anchors and set screws. A marking template is included. Drill 10 mm / 3/8 in in diameter and 45 mm / 1.8 in deep for the concrete anchors. Assembled height with one 12 in / 30.5 cm pipe at 0 degrees: 21.25 in / 54 cm from the ceiling to the underside of the bracket plate.

Rating: 300 lb / 136 kg adapter; 50 lb / 22.7 kg as a system with the bracket

Limits: Brick, masonry and metal are not listed. The assembled height is measured at 0 degrees; on a slope the vertical drop differs and is not measured, so the builder's figure applies to a level mounting.

  • QG-PRO-PM-SCA-W (above the tile) and QG-PRO-PM-SCA2-W (flush, 2 x 2 ft), white only

    Drop or suspended ceiling

Both suspend from the structure above the grid, not from the grid. Wire, four eye bolts for wood, four concrete anchors and four turnbuckles are included; a wire loop suits truss. SCA sits above a 2 x 2 ft or 2 x 4 ft tile and its collar slides 17.24 in / 438 mm. SCA2 is a 2 x 2 ft panel that replaces a 2 x 2 ft tile or half of a 2 x 4 ft tile.

Rating: 60 lb / 27.2 kg for both adapters (SCA above the tile, SCA2 flush); 50 lb / 22.7 kg as a system with the bracket

Limits: System rating is 50 lb / 22.7 kg, set by the bracket, with either adapter. No marking template. Suspension wire length varies with the plenum, so the builder shows pipe length only, not a drop figure.

Build your Pro-AV system Ceiling first, then structure, pipe length, projector and finish

Answer one step at a time. The builder picks the adapter from your ceiling and structure, the pipes from your length, and checks the bracket against your projector's weight and hole spacing. Every joint is checked and the lowest rating in the chain becomes the system rating. Nothing goes in the cart until you review the whole system.

What kind of project is this?

Residential projects can also see QualGear's standalone projector mounts on a flat ceiling. Commercial and nonprofit projects use the Pro-AV system only, because the standalone mounts are for residential use.

Choosing an application preselects nothing; it shows the notes for that room beside each step.

    Application

What is the ceiling like where the projector will hang?

The ceiling decides the adapter. Each adapter has a female 1.5 in NPT socket, so the pipes and bracket are the same for every ceiling.

What is the ceiling like where the projector will hang?

What will the adapter attach to?

Only the structures named in the adapter's manual pass as documented. Anything else is flagged for a qualified installer to verify, and hardware for it is not included.

What will the adapter attach to?

    Finish

Drop ceiling adapters are white only; the truss adapter is black only. Pipes and the bracket come in both.

    Finish

How far should the projector hang?

Enter the drop you need and the builder proposes the fewest pipes and connectors that reach it, with the exact calculated drop. Or choose a single pipe. Cables can run inside any pipe.

Measured from the ceiling-contact face to the underside of the bracket plate. For a truss or I-beam adapter it is measured from the bottom of the beam. Leave it empty to choose a single pipe instead.

    Or choose one pipe

Cables can run inside any pipe. A side cable exit is optional: a 24 in or 36 in pipe, or a PCO connector.

What adds to the dropSide view of the assembled system. Bracket (a) marks the nominal pipe length. Bracket (b) marks the total drop from the ceiling line to the underside of the projector. (b) Total drop (a) Nominal pipe length

Which projector will hang on the mount?

Weight and mounting-hole spacing decide the fit. Search by brand and model, enter the figures from your manual, or skip for now and check later.

Where to find your model number

Look on the label on the underside or back of the projector, in its on-screen information menu, or on the box and original invoice.

    Can't find your model?

Enter the weight from the manufacturer specifications. Hole spacing is optional; without it the bracket fit stays a check.

    Which mount holds the projector?

The QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket is the Pro-AV part. Standalone mounts appear only for residential projects on a flat ceiling; they do not use NPT pipe and skip the adapter and pipe steps.

Asked before ordering. Answers from the product listings and manuals.

What is the QualGear Pro-AV mounting system?
QualGear Pro-AV is a modular projector ceiling mount system built on one 1.5 in NPT thread. A ceiling adapter anchors to the structure, a fixed-length extension pipe sets the hang, and the QG-PRO-PM-50 projector bracket holds the projector. Adapters cover flat, sloped, drop and truss or I-beam ceilings, and QG-KIT kits pack all three parts.
What parts do I need for a complete projector mount?
Three parts: a ceiling adapter for your ceiling type, a 1.5 in NPT extension pipe, and the QG-PRO-PM-50 projector bracket. The adapter and bracket are both female, so a pipe always sits between them. For a longer hang, stack up to six pipes and five connectors, one connector between each pair; each connector adds 1 in / 2.5 cm. Each QG-KIT includes the bracket, an adapter and a 3 in / 7.6 cm pipe.
What is included in a Pro-AV kit?
Each QG-KIT includes a QG-PRO-PM-50 projector bracket, the ceiling adapter for its ceiling type (flat, sloped, drop above the tile, drop flush, or truss and I-beam), a 3 in / 7.6 cm 1.5 in NPT threaded pipe and presorted hardware, including the bracket's M6 x 8 mm security screws and 4 mm security Allen key. Each kit's combined installation manual is available on its product page; printed copies will be included in future production.
Can I mix Pro-AV components to build a custom hang?
Compatible components may be combined when specifications, threading, load ratings and instructions permit. The complete assembly must be evaluated as a system, and the lowest applicable load or installation limit controls. The builder applies that rule automatically and names the part that sets the system rating.
How much weight can the system hold?
The lowest rating in the chain controls. The QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket is rated to 50 lb / 22.7 kg. Adapters: flat 120 lb / 54.4 kg, drop ceiling above the tile 60 lb / 27.2 kg, drop ceiling flush 60 lb / 27.2 kg, sloped 300 lb / 136 kg, truss 400 lb / 181 kg. Pipes are rated to 800 lb / 363 kg and connectors to 300 lb / 136 kg. So every Pro-AV system is rated to 50 lb / 22.7 kg, set by the bracket.
Will the bracket fit my projector's mounting holes?
Check your projector's weight and mounting-hole spacing against the bracket's Key Specifications. The QG-PRO-PM-50 has four independent arms with an opposite-arm span of 5.1-18.5 in / 130-470 mm, a 50 lb / 22.7 kg load, and supplies M3 x 8, M4 x 10, M5 x 10, M6 x 10, M4 x 25 and M6 x 25 mm screws. A projector with three mounting holes fits when its holes match the arms; the fourth arm comes off. The builder checks the figures from the projector manual.
Does the image stay aimed after installation?
The QG-PRO-PM-50 bracket uses 12 adjustment points, six for tilt and six for swivel, to hold the aim once set. Tilt adjusts plus or minus 20 degrees, swivel plus or minus 8 degrees, and rotation 180 degrees each way. A quick-release lets you remove and reattach the projector without resetting the aim.
Is the 1.5 in NPT thread compatible with other brands' pipes?
QualGear Pro-AV adapters and brackets are made for standard 1.5 in NPT threaded pipe, and the adapter manuals state they are designed to be compatible with all standard 1.5 in NPT pipes. If you mix in another brand's part, its own rating becomes part of the system and the lowest rating controls. The builder checks QualGear parts only.
                  What colors are available?
Brackets, flat and sloped adapters, pipes, connectors, and the flat and sloped kits come in black or white. The drop ceiling adapters and kits are white. The truss adapter and truss kit are black. Parts of different colors still thread together; only the finish differs.
                  Is installation hardware included?
Yes, for the documented structures. The flat adapter includes two wood screws, four metal expansion anchors, two M6 washers, set screws and a decorative cover; drill 10 mm / 3/8 in in diameter and 45 mm / 1.8 in deep for the anchors. The sloped adapter includes three screws, three metal expansion anchors and set screws. The drop ceiling adapters include wire, four eye bolts, four concrete anchors and four turnbuckles; drill 1/4 in / 6 mm in diameter and 1.5 in / 38 mm deep for the concrete anchors. The truss adapter includes two U-bolts with M10 nuts and washers. Hardware for brick, masonry or metal is not included.
What are the security screws, and which wrench do I need?
The projector bracket uses M6 x 8 mm security screws, driven by the 4 mm security Allen key included in its hardware pack. The M2.5 mm security Allen wrench fits the M5 x 4 mm set screws on the sloped adapter, the PC connector and the pipes, and is available if you need one. The flat, drop ceiling and truss adapters and the PCO connector use M5 x 5 mm set screws, 4 mm hex key. Neither wrench has a manual; both are replacement parts covered for the remaining period of the original product's warranty, parts only.
Do I need a professional installer?
Professional installation is strongly recommended when structural conditions are uncertain, when electrical work is involved, for overhead installation, for concrete, steel, masonry, trusses or specialty ceilings, for unusually large or heavy equipment, and where local licensing requirements apply.
Can QualGear check my configuration before I order?
Yes. Share the projector make and model, its weight and mounting pattern, your ceiling type, the hang you want, and photos or drawings. QualGear can identify compatible Pro-AV components and provide specifications. The installer remains responsible for the complete configuration, structural support, field dimensions, code compliance and safe installation.
Can the system be used in classrooms, conference rooms, hospitality or houses of worship?
Pro-AV products are designed for professional applications. Suitability depends on the exact equipment, structure, environment, code and installation plan, so a qualified installer should evaluate the site. The applications section above shows how the system is commonly configured for each room type.

Pro-AV replacement parts, such as the security Allen wrenches, are covered for the remaining period of the original product's warranty, parts only.
